Army Team Events

The Army Team coordinates and schedules events in order to provide Midshipmen the opportunity to participate in U.S. Army training. These events are designed to give Midshipmen some insight into the U.S. Army by allowing them to participate in training events with local National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve units.

The Army Team has tentatively scheduled the following events during the 2010-2011 academic year:

17-19SEP10 – NY Army National Guard  Recruit Sustainment Program Drill, Camp Smith, NY
        Rappelling, Military Operations in Urban Terrain, Combatives

19NOV10-10DEC10 – U.S. Army Basic Airborne Course, Fort Benning, GA
        Six slots to Airborne Class 006
        Offered to 2012 B split with 120 sea days only

19NOV10 – NY Army National Guard OCS Drill, Camp Smith/West Point, NY
        Staff ride discussing the battle of Fort Montgomery and defensive construction of West Point

26FEB11 – NY Army National Guard OCS Drill, Camp Smith/West Point, NY
        Combat Water Survival Test (CWST)

04-24MAR11 – U.S. Army Basic Airborne Course, Fort Benning, GA
        Six slots to Airborne Class 014

15-17APR11 – NY Army National Guard OCS Drill, Camp Smith, NY
        Field Leadership Exercise (FLX)

20-22MAY11 - NY Army National Guard  Recruit Sustainment Program Drill, Camp Smith, NY
        Rappelling, Military Operations in Urban Terrain, Combatives
        Tentative - Exact date TBD


REQUIREMENTS to Attend

a. Not be on restriction (certain exceptions are granted).

b. Have available to wear an Army Combat Uniform (ACU) complete:
       i. ACU blouse and trousers
      ii. Authorized boots, tan
     iii. Belt, tan
     iv. T-shirt, tan
     v.  Patrol Cap, ACU pattern
    vi. Name tape, U.S. Army tape, both ACU pattern
   vii. American Flag, non-subdued

c. Any additional field equipment necessary will be issued by the Army Liaison Team.
